Just Wednesday

Ciao! I’m not in much of a writing mood, but I’ll give a quick play-by-play of Wednesday, because that was honestly the only eventful day of the week.

I woke up early Wednesday morning and did a quick Pilates workout before heading to class at 8:30. My friend Ruby was on the bus, so we got to chat a bit before grabbing a cappuccino and heading into our Plant Pathology lecture.

The night before, I had been offered a summer internship from a DREAM winery in Portugal, so after class I emailed to happily accept the position. I’m so excited to learn how to make wine this summer under the mentorship of my sweet friend Teresa’s aunt! Eeeepp!!

I spent the next few hours studying on campus before joining some friends outside for lunch in the sun, then I had a meeting with my thesis advisor. I’m beginning my research on selective mechanical harvesting in the vineyard, and I’ll get to run sensory and economic analyses for a localish winery to see the impact it has.

After my meeting I spent the next class learning about Portugal’s wine regions and terroir (which was completely coincidental!), then headed home for a much-needed chat with Mom and a quick dinner before I met up with my friends for an aperitivo.

My friend Marte was giving a presentation on Norway at a local café/club called Rathaus, so a few of us went to support her and learn about Norwegian life. She captured the crowd, as she always does, and I suspect that Norway will be getting a visit from everyone in that room at some point because of her.

We celebrated her success at a local wine bar, had some snacks, then I headed home and snuggled into bed to finish a good book.

It was a sweet day full of answered prayers!!
